A Minor Procedure

When we went sledding Marcus had a minor encounter with a tree branch that was buried under the snow. What looked like a small hole on the inside of his thumb turned out to be more then we thought. When he slid down the hill and complained of sore thumb all we could see was a small hole. We just blew it off but he keep complaining about it hurting. So we looked at it and didn't see anything. I could feel something there and he would flinch. So we waited it out for a few days. Not what I wanted to do but then again I have a tendency to overreact sometimes. Dave keep saying if there's something in there it will fester up and come out. Well now it's Thursday and his thumb and palm of his hand is starting to swell. I made him an appointment and took him to the Dr. today. When we told the Dr. about what happened she could tell that there was indeed something in there. She said that there was infection in the hand and that was causing the swelling. So she numbed the thumb and made a small incision cutting deeper and deeper until she finally hit what was in there. She pulled it out and there was a good size thorn in there. He is on antibiotics now for the infection and has a small incision in his thumb. He was such a trooper. She couldn't believe that he went that long with it in his thumb. He must have a high pain tolerance. When Dave heard all that happened he felt so bad. All is forgiven now and Marcus is on the mend. Here are a few pictures.

Things that go bump

Well I have learned a valuable lesson on going with your gut feeling. Yesterday had to run to Michaels return some things and then run to Walmart. While I ran into Michael's I left Aron, Marcus, Noah and Joey in the car for a second. Noah is Marcus's friend and Joey is Aron's friend. Okay so I come out of the store and see Aron in the drivers seat. I know where this is leading. He wants to drive the NEW suburban. Well I say no and my gut says no but I finally give in. Walmart is only around the corner right? Well we make it to Walmart but when he went to pull into the parking spot the pulled in to fast and BAM the hit the parked car next to us. Hitting the bumper and pushing the car into the car in front of it. Not Good. Oh my gosh what do I do? People are stearing and the cart pusher is out there watching. I just had to sit and get myself together. Well we waited for a good 45minutes for the owner to come out but they never did. The lady who was parked in front of the other car came out and backed out and there was no damage to her car so she left. Thank God! So I decided to leave a note on the ladies car with what happened and my name and cell phone number. We went into Walmart to get some stuff done. On the way home the lady called and was just so thankful that I left a note and I was so thankful that she was nice about the whole thing. She met me at the Fry's parking lot so we could exchange info. I was hoping that she would let us just pay for it out of our pocket so it doesn't go on our insurance. If it does then our rate for Aron would go out the roof. So I get there and I see the lady and she see's me and we both start laughing. It was one of the teachers from the school that our kids go to. Imagine that. She is going to let us just pay for it out of our pocket. I am so happy! Aron on the other hand will have to pay us back someday when he gets a job. A lesson learned for me and him. He will not drive either of the Suburbans! Just the jeep.

Baseball Season Has Started

Well baseball season has offically started. Aron had his first baseball game last night in Peoria.
They lost 12-11. He got to pitch two innings. He did good. He batted twice with one strike out and a single bringing in 2 RBI's. RBI's are runners on base. We are so looking forward to the season. I say that know, but will be glad when it's over! Little League for the other two boy's will start next month. Ryan has decided NOT to play this year. But we will be busy with Aron playing high school ball, Marcus playing Little League Juniors and Michael playing Little League Minors.

Vipers Game #6 22-14

Yeah the boys won their game once again. It is so fun to just watch these kids run up the court and down the court pass the ball and steal the ball. It is amazing the energy that they have.
I wish I could have just a little bit of it for one day. I would be amazed at what I could get done around the house.

Vipers Game #5 We won 25-20

Well today was a really good game. Michael was determined to make a basket, and he did!
He made is first basket today. He was so excited. It is always so fun to see you child get excited over something that he has accomplished. He had to play against a friend from school, JT. It was kind of funny and kind of sad, but JT got confused and shot a basket and it was our basket he threw it into. Oops wrong team. He wanted them to win but he wanted to win too. They did win. It was close but they pulled it through.
