Marcus Update

Marcus had a doctors apt yesterday. He got his stitches out and the ok to take the brace off. He is allowed to start bending the knee a few times a day. Still on crutches for at least 3 weeks. No pressure on the leg until the next apt. He is healing up good. This will just take awhile to heal.
Will keep you posted on the apt in 3 weeks.

Today I went with Aron to register him for school for the last time!! It was a bitter sweet moment. I still can't believe that he is a senior this year. Time sure does fly. Although he didn't want me to take his picture I did anyway!! Hey, I'm the mom and I said so.
This school year will be over before I know it!! I look forward to all that we have to do. Stay tuned for all the things we have planned.

Knee surgery

Resting at home
Ready for surgery

Marcus had to have knee surgery on Wednesday morning for a torn meniscal in his knee. We aren't quit sure exactly how it happened. He had been telling us that his knee had some pain but we had just put if off and kept an eye on it.
He went for a yearly check up on a Monday. The Doc ordered a MRI and he had that done on Tuesday. By Friday he had an apt with the Orthopedic surgeon. He was scheduled for surgery for the following Wedneday.

We are thinking that he did this last year during the football season. He had a knee injury playing football and was on crutches for a sprained knee for 4 weeks. He had time to rest and then the first game back he broke his collar bone. Therefore he was out for the rest of the season. Then he went back to work out for the summer and started practice for football. That is when it started hurting.

The Doc said that there was a 90% chance that he will just go in there and cut out the piece that was torn. That would give him a lot quicker recovery. Meaning the surgery would be on Wednesday and start physical theraphy on the following Monday and be ready to play football for the season.

There was a 10% chance that he would have to actually sew the piece together and he would have a lot longer recovery. 6weeks on crutches then physical theraphy. The chances of him playing the season are slim.

The Doc wouldn't know which one would have to be done until he actually got in there and took a look. Well the results are that he had to sew the meniscal back together. Which means a lot longer recovery but better for his knee for his lifetime.

He was a bit disappointed but knows that it is best in the long run. The surgery and recovery went well. He has been planted on the couch and only get's up to use the restroom. He's been on pain meds but today has been a really good day. He is starting to go longer between pain meds. He naps off and on and has had some visitors come by with treats.

He has a follow up apt with the Doc on Wednesday the 29th. I will keep you posted.

Gone Camping

Dave's family and our family all went on a camping trip to Knoll Lake. Although I'm not much of the camping type I really had a good time. It was nice and relaxing and just sitting around visiting with family was fun. Here are some pictures of our trip.
Enjoy!

God And Country Presentation

Our church has put on the God And Country Presentation for years. It is where we aknowledge our country and that it was founded on Christian ground. That there is a "living God" and thank those who served for our country for our freedom. Here a few pictures from this afternoon. I was on the side so I got what I could. Enjoy

Happy 4th Of July

Happy 4th Of July to everyone. We thank God for our freedom! Free to be Christians! Thank you to all who have served and are serving. May God bless each and everyone of you today!

Until next time

My Uncle Bud came up from Or to visit for the week. We love when uncle Bud comes. The kids did miss my Aunt though. She had to stay in Or and work. It was a nice week. We didn't do much. Dave, Uncle Bud, Aron and Marcus all went golfing on Tuesday. Then Friday Uncle Bud and Dave went golfing, again. We did some running around. We had a great visit. It's so nice that he can come and just be with us.

He left this morning so I had Dave take a picture of us. Here we are in our moring glory barefoot and all.

Blessed

I have a passion to learn how to quilt someday. I have gone to a few quilting shows where we look at all the quilts that are displayed. There are raffles for quilts that people have made. A ton of vendors as well. You can spend hours at a quilt show.

My aunt buys a quilt kit wherever she goes. She has got me hooked. I bought two quilt kits at each of these quilt shows. Dave asks me why I do that when I don't even have a machine. I tell him because one of these day's I'm going to have one and I'm going to learn.

How the heck will I learn how to quilt? Well hopefully someday my aunt and uncle will move up here and she will teach me!

Well my uncle was here for a week and my aunt calls and says "Uncle Bud has something for you from both of us. This is because we love you." They blessed me with a Jamone sewing machine!! I cried! Then I thought to myself, how the heck am I going to learn how to quilt? I guess I will have to take a quilting class and try to be patient until my aunt get's here to help me.
Hurry up Aunt Irene. I need you!! Thank you both from the bottom of my heart. I love you both
